Markku Metso / Born 1980 / Lives in Kouvola, Finland
contact / markku.metso(at)gmail.com

Although Markku grew up reading books and thinking he would like to write fiction himself, he soon found out that pictures were his way of self-expression. Love for both words and visual arts has developed him a keen interest in sequential art, which has considerably influenced his drawings.

Another important medium in his art is assemblage. His assemblages are made from all kinds of old and found items, from dead bugs and tree branches to broken pocket watches and rusty iron nails.

His other art projects have included installations, community art and experimental music.

Markku works as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer and enjoys commissions where he can draw old twisted trees.
